We are back in Marple Bridge
Hi all our people, another little update as Gail has had her second Chemo which was Wednesday 23rd April. The gap between the last and this one was 3 weeks as she needed time to recover from a bad reaction to one of the drugs in the infusion which has now been taken out. She is on a combination of three and it was confirmed that she had been given the whole whammy that first one, I guess to see what she could tolerate as every one is different. It was on the basis that she is really looking and feeling well, she is young and fit. We were reassured that taking the offending one out did not necessarily mean that the treatment would be less. More is not 'more' apparently, it all depends on what can be tolerated and administered safely and some clinical research has shown as good a result with the combo of the 2 rather than the 3 drugs. That's what we hope for anyway.
The difference in Gail following this chemo is marked and we are happy to say that she is feeling amazing overall, no real pain and no bad tummy and she is not on the loo every five minutes. We are grateful as we have moved to our final accommodation, now sorted for the next 4 months. Its a delightful rustic cottage in Marple Bridge, will see if I can attach photos. Thankfully we have our wonderful friends Ang and Emma with us and as well as supporting us through every scheduled chemo, they were here to help us move. Honestly I had no idea how much stuff we have managed to get up here from Cornwall, but it took a good few runs up to the new cottage to move it all.
Just winding back a bit, we had the most lovely week at home, which was an absolute gift as it was not planned in advance but opportune. We met with a good few crazy lovelies (they know who they are) at the beach for swims on most days, avoiding the poop at Devils Point on Sunday, was a bit of a challenge for me, its honestly the only time I remember managing to keep my mouth shut for the best part of 20 minutes in there! Gail did not go in of course, but had the pleasure of just being with wonderful friends and family (Sally sis and boys, Dave, Jayden and Isaac) and enjoying the sunshine and the sea air. There is so much to love about living in Cornwall.
We cant mention everyone who we have seen and no one is left out of our hearts and minds in terms of the love and support that we feel from you all . We do give a special mention to our neighbours Sally and Andi and Alan who are looking after our house whilst we are away and checking our post and just being there with a meal and a cuppa when are home. Its comforting in every sense and we cant thank them enough.
I am planning a few more days home from next week, having a couple of commitments, one being working with my lovely witchy friend Frederique doing our magic earth healing, space clearing and Feng Shui. There will of course be more beach time and dips. Being away from the sea does make me fonder for it. Still we are loving Marple Bridge, the greenery, bordering on the Peak District and these Mancs are so friendly too!
Sending love and most genuine best wishes to everyone and hoping to see everyone at some point.
Olga and Gail xxxxxx
