Checking in
Hi all our dearest, we hope this finds you well and enjoying the exceptional sunny days we are having! Gail had her 3rd Chemo Wednesday7th May and it went well, supported by our amazing girls Ang and Emma, who have committed to come up from Portishead every 2 weeks to support. Gail was more tired this time and today (Sunday) has not been the best day with tummy grips and tiredness, which we expect but its not nice as many of you beautiful people know from personal experience. My heart goes out to her and to everyone ever having to have chemo, its necessary and we are embracing it, but its pretty shitty too! We have an end game and so Gail is going to tolerate it with all her might and with everyone around us, its so much easier. What's great is she has managed to get to 3 Man City Matches with her bro over the last few weeks.
I had a week at home last week, knowing Gail was in good hands staying with her mom and needing to have my CT monitoring scan. No results yet but I feel fine so not worried, but will keep you all posted of course. My week at home was lovely, wonderful neighbours doing suppers for me and more that anyone could expect, we are forever grateful to Sally and Andi and Alan for watching over our home. So many in the village send their love and little packages of goodness too, thank you guys we could not live in a nicer place.
I have to share my swims, they bring me so much joy along with the beautiful mermaids that I get into the sea with and endure the cold, its marvelous. I almost made it to the first buoy at Devils point, albeit at low tide and a helpful friend said if I was taller I could have actually walked it - rude!!
There was also a lovely walk with a little gang at Mount Edgecombe which feeds the soul as much as the wonderful roast at the Finnygook Inn at Crafthole did afterwards.
Our Garden looks amazing and with our friend Debbie doing her magic, it really is coming into its own now.
We plan to have a peaceful week in Marple Bridge now until Gail's next Chemo and then home for a week together which will be wonderful.
For now I leave you with hopefully not too many photos of some loveliness! Not in any order sorry!!
Thank you. It always so good to hear your news. The photos were fabulous and its heartening to see that you can find moments of joy in this dark time for you and Gail. Your light is strong and shines through the clouds. You and Gail are forever in our hearts and minds. It was good to hear no more adverse reactions to the chemo. Love and hugs to you both. Xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Olga, thank you or keeping us all updated and I’m so pleased that Gail is tolerating her treatment - long may it continue. It’s also great to hear that she is able to go to the footy with her brother because keeping things normal is so important. Your garden looks wonderful and it makes me wish that I had a ‘Debbie’ friend like that. I hope your recent CT scan gave you some positive news, I know that you weren’t worried about it, but still …… The weather is looking promising for the next swim and hopefully you and Gail will be joining us. Until then, I’m sending lots of love and positivity xxx
